Welcome to one of our Rightangled Test Explainers.
In this video we look in more depth at our Diabetes blood test — how it gives a clearer picture of the way your body produces and manages insulin, and the process from ordering through to reviewing your results online.
The test helps identify raised or low blood sugar levels. HbA1c in particular reflects your average blood glucose over the previous two to three months, which makes it more informative than a single spot reading.
See your GP promptly if you have symptoms of diabetes — increased thirst, passing urine more often especially at night, unexplained weight loss, persistent fatigue or blurred vision. A home test is a useful screening tool, but a diagnosis of diabetes must be made by a clinician.
Browse our current range of home blood tests and DNA tests. All results are reviewed by our clinical team, which includes GPhC-registered independent prescribers, with medical oversight from our doctor, Dr Abdullah.
