Description

Testogel 16.2 mg/g is a prescription-only transdermal gel containing testosterone.

It is used as testosterone replacement therapy in adult men with male hypogonadism, where testosterone deficiency has been confirmed through symptoms and blood tests.

The gel is applied to clean, dry and healthy skin on the shoulders or upper arms. The exact dose will be determined and monitored by a qualified prescriber.

Care must be taken to prevent the gel from transferring to other people through skin contact, particularly women and children. Please read the Patient Information Leaflet for full information on application, warnings, precautions and possible side effects.

Directions

Apply once daily, preferably in the morning, to clean, dry and healthy skin on both shoulders or upper arms. Use only the dose prescribed. Allow the gel to dry before dressing and wash your hands after application. Do not apply to the genital area.

Ingrédients

Active ingredient: Testosterone 16.2 mg per gram of gel.
Other ingredients: Carbomer 980, isopropyl myristate, ethanol 96%, sodium hydroxide and purified water. One pump delivers 20.25 mg of testosterone

Effets secondaires

Possible side effects include application-site reactions, acne, dry skin, headache, dizziness, mood changes, increased blood pressure and changes in libido. Read the patient leaflet for the full list of side effects.

Avertissements

For adult men only. Avoid transferring the gel to other people, particularly women and children. Cover the application area once dry and wash it before close skin contact. Pregnant women must avoid contact with the gel. The gel contains alcohol and is flammable until dry.

What is Testogel 16.2 mg/g Gel used for?

Testogel is used as testosterone replacement therapy in adult men whose bodies do not produce enough testosterone naturally. Testosterone deficiency must be confirmed through appropriate symptoms, clinical assessment and blood tests before treatment is prescribed.

How should Testogel be applied?

Testogel should usually be applied once daily, preferably in the morning, to clean, dry and healthy skin on both shoulders or upper arms. Use only the number of pumps prescribed by your clinician, allow the gel to dry before dressing and wash your hands thoroughly after application.

Can Testogel be applied to the genital area?

No. Testogel should not be applied to the penis, testicles or other genital areas. The gel contains alcohol and may cause irritation if applied to sensitive or damaged skin.

Can Testogel transfer to another person?

Yes. Testosterone gel can transfer through close skin contact before the application area has been washed. Allow the gel to dry, cover the area with clothing and wash the application site before close contact. Particular care should be taken around women and children.
