05 Works by

Melatonin is a natural hormone produced by the pineal gland in the brain. It plays an essential role in regulating the body’s day-and-night rhythm, also known as the circadian rhythm. This rhythm can become disrupted when travelling across time zones, which may lead to jet lag. Melatonin supplements help restore the body’s natural sleep-wake cycle and ease symptoms of jet lag. As night falls, melatonin levels naturally rise, signalling to the body that it is time to rest. By binding to receptors that promote relaxation, melatonin supports a smoother transition to sleep.

FAQ

Veuillez lire notre page FAQ pour en savoir plus.

Why must the tablet be swallowed whole?

This is a modified-release (prolonged-release) tablet, designed to release melatonin gradually through the night. Crushing, chewing or splitting it would release the full dose at once and lose the sustained effect.

Is melatonin suitable if I have an autoimmune condition?

There is no clinical data on its use in people with autoimmune diseases, so it is not recommended in that group. If you have an autoimmune condition and are considering this medicine, discuss it with our pharmacy team at info@rightangled.com.

Are there medicines that interact with melatonin?

Yes. Fluvoxamine (used for depression and OCD) can greatly increase melatonin levels and the combination should be avoided. Cimetidine (a stomach acid medicine) also raises melatonin levels. Tell our pharmacy team at info@rightangled.com about all your medicines before starting.

Can I drive or operate machinery after taking it?

Melatonin can cause drowsiness. Do not drive, cycle or use machines if you feel drowsy after taking it. Since it is taken 1 to 2 hours before bedtime, most people are at home when the effect sets in, but be aware of it if your routine is different.
