Avamys (Fluticasone furoate) is a prescription only treatment. The active ingredient in Avamys nasal spray, is a corticosteroid. Avamys is used to treat symptoms from allergic  rhinitis, such as stuffy, runny or itchy nose, sneezing and watery itchy or red eyes.

Avamys nasal spray is used to treat adults and children aged 6 years and over. It works to decrease inflammation caused by allergy and helps reduce the symptoms of allergy. The medication may start providing relief to the symptoms of allergic rhinitis from 8 to 24 hours after the first dose. It may take several days before the full effect of the medication could be felt. 

    WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

    Suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and older.

    Who is it suitable for?

    • Not suitable for children under the age of 6.
    • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless your GP or doctor tells you to.

    HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?

    • This treatment is Effective for hay fever.
    • The active ingredient in Avamys nasal spray is fluticasone furoate.
    • This medicine belongs to a group of medicines that is called glucocorticoids.
    • You would need to use this medicine once a day at the same time each day.
    • This treatment usually works within 8 to 24 hours from the time you use it.
    • The ages over 12, the recommended starting dose would be 2 sprays in each nostril once every day.
    • Children who are 6 to 11 years old, the recommended starting dose would be 1 spray in each nostril once a day.
